We are delighted to announce the launch of our brand-new drama camp, where campers will embark on a 3-week unforgettable journey into the world of theater, culminating in a spectacular performance of "Seussical the Musical"!
The very talented Melissa Schnappauf of Drama Kids has joined the Camp Coconuts team! Melissa brings a world of experience and talent to share with our campers as she coaches drama camp and directs our show, and ultimately brings Seussical the Musical to life!
This year drama camp will take place at the beautiful Navesink Library, a professional playhouse fitted with lighting, sound equipment, a stage, dressing rooms, and a beautiful theatre. Campers are sure to have a full-fledged Broadway experience!
Drama Camp Info
- Drama Camp Dates August 7th-26th (camp weeks 7, 8, & 9)
- Full-day (9 am - 4 pm) or Half-day option (9 am -12:30 pm)
- For grades 3rd-10th
- Families will drop off at 9 am directly at Navesink Library 149 Monmouth Ave, Atlantic Highlands, NJ 07716

- Campers must participate in all three weeks M-F, and dress rehearsals
- There will be no excursions available for drama camp participants
Calling all actors and actresses!
At our drama camp and acting camp, campers will have the unique opportunity to explore their creativity, develop their acting skills, and immerse themselves in the magical world of Dr. Seuss. Campers will participate in auditions, rehearsals, directing, set design, prop making, and incredible final performances.
Campers will have the chance to audition for various roles, allowing them to showcase their talents and passions. Whether they dream of playing the Cat in the Hat, Horton the Elephant, or any of the beloved Seussian characters, our dedicated team of theater professionals will guide them through the audition process, helping them discover their potential and build their confidence. Roles with stage time will be available to all participating, including pre-performance skits or monologues and/or a role in the show!
Once the cast is chosen, our campers will dive into intensive rehearsals, where they will learn their lines, practice choreography, and bring the enchanting world of Dr. Seuss to life. Our drama team will provide invaluable instruction, ensuring each camper receives the support they need to shine on stage.
The fun doesn't end with the morning drama program! So pack a bathing suit! Campers in our full-day camp programming will hop on a bus to camp, enjoy a delicious lunch, and then rejoin the rest of the camp for exciting afternoon programming. The combination of drama camp and our afternoon camp programming will create a well-rounded experience of pure summer fun.
We can't wait to see the joy on your campers' faces as they bring the extraordinary world of "Seussical the Musical" to life. The grand performance at the end will be a moment to cherish and celebrate our campers' incredible talent and hard work.
